Terms and conditions for using Interniq platform

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Interniq ("the Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service. This Agreement governs your use of Interniq, a platform connecting Nigerian students with internship opportunities and NYSC placements.
2. Description of Service
Interniq provides a digital platform that:
- Connects Nigerian students with internship and NYSC placement opportunities
- Allows employers to post internship positions and discover talent
- Facilitates communication between students and employers
- Provides career resources and guidance for students
- Offers analytics and insights for employers
3. User Accounts and Registration
3.1 Account Creation
To use certain features of the Platform, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for safeguarding the password and for maintaining the confidentiality of your account. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
3.3 Account Types
- Student Accounts: For Nigerian students seeking internship opportunities
- Employer Accounts: For businesses and organizations offering internships
- Institutional Accounts: For universities and educational institutions
4. User Responsibilities and Conduct
4.1 Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform
- Distribute spam, viruses, or malicious content
- Use the Platform for commercial purposes outside its intended use
4.2 Content Standards
All content posted on the Platform must be professional, respectful, and relevant to internship and career opportunities. Content must not contain offensive language, discriminatory statements, or inappropriate material.
4.3 Student Responsibilities
- Provide accurate academic and personal information
- Maintain professional communication with employers
- Honor internship commitments and agreements
- Report any issues or concerns promptly
4.4 Employer Responsibilities
- Provide accurate company and internship information
- Offer legitimate internship opportunities
- Comply with Nigerian labor laws and regulations
- Maintain professional standards in all interactions
- Provide proper supervision and learning opportunities
5. Intellectual Property Rights
5.1 Platform Content
The Platform and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Interniq and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
5.2 User Content
You retain ownership of content you post on the Platform. However, by posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute such content for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform.
5.3 Trademark Policy
"Interniq" and related marks are trademarks of our company. You may not use these trademarks without our prior written permission.
6. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of your information as outlined in the Privacy Policy.
7. Platform Availability and Modifications
We strive to keep the Platform available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the Platform for maintenance, updates, or other operational reasons. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time with or without notice.
8. Payment Terms and Pricing
8.1 Free Services
Basic access to the Platform is provided free of charge for students and employers. This includes creating profiles, posting internships, and basic matching services.
8.2 Premium Services
Premium features may be available for a fee, including advanced analytics, priority placement, and enhanced support. Pricing for premium services will be clearly displayed before purchase.
8.3 Payment Processing
All payments are processed securely through trusted third-party payment processors. We do not store payment card information on our servers.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Interniq shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Platform.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content posted by users. We are not responsible for the conduct of users or the outcomes of internship arrangements made through the Platform.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Interniq and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Platform or violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Platform immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. You may also terminate your account at any time by contacting us.
Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will cease immediately, but provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
We encourage users to contact us first to resolve any disputes informally. For formal disputes, we prefer mediation before litigation where possible.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Platform and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
